The workshop is an introduction to Forum Theatre, the main technique ofthe Theatre of the Oppressed, developed by the Brazilian director and scholar Augusto Boal

LAU’s Student Production “Seven Jewish Children” in Fez, Morocco

LAU’s Department of Communication Arts participated in the fifth University Theatre Festival in Fez, Morocco, from April 8–11, with the student theatre production Seven Jewish Children: A Play for Gaza.

Developed for the Play Production I course, the play is directed by LAU's communication arts student Fuad Halwani, under the academic supervision of Dr. Mona Knio, associate professor of theatre at LAU. It is based on a script written by English playwright Caryl Churchill in 2009.

The festival was organized by the Université Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah in Fez. It featured student troupes from North African, Arab, European and Canadian universities that staged more than a dozen performances.
